I’m the Scholarly Publishing Services Librarian at Iowa State University. I direct the Iowa State University Digital Press, our open access library publishing program.
I’ve been at Iowa State since 2012. Before that, I completed my graduate education in archival studies and library and information studies at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. I studied Graphic Design and Visual Culture at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
My research revolves around systemic racism and anti-racist interventions in academic publishing. My service activities focus on diversity, inclusion, and social justice in libraries and archives. I have served on and led DISJ-related committees for the Library Publishing Coalition, Midwest Archives Conference, and the Society of American Archivists.
I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Outside of work, I’m either traveling or thinking about traveling.
